Morning the last day

Too dinner last night, I had a seafood pie with all kinds of fish, shrimp, potatoes and cheese. Yum!  Walked to the restaurant, Goosers.

Killaloe, Co Clare

Found a B & B, Carramore Lodge. Our hosts are Eileen and Paul. Pretty location with the Shannon running through the town. One lane bridge with traffic controlled with 5 lights. Pubs at both ends of the bridge and the library between one pub and the bridge.

As we drove today we were stopped for "studding" on the road.

Saturday

Wonderful program in the cathedral! Young woman playing the pipes who was joined by several friends, one who could also dance very well!

In the evening we took the taxi again. Interesting driver and very friendly. After the concert we went to the dance. But did not stay long. Later we met the mayor and he offered to give us our money back because we left early! When we asked if he was the mayor, he said "sometimes." 

Outside the pub we met a couple that were newly married. She is from Ireland and he is from Alabama.

Made it here. Now to see if we can arrange for a taxi to run us to and from the music festival so we don't have to deal with parking. Also so we can have a drink in the pub after. ;-)

Other news is that myfitnesspal is nagging me about eating too much. I don't think an extra 800 calories is over too much for yesterday!

Found my Ireland in the Sheepshead Pub, its a BB & B. Stands for booze bed, and breakfast.

Marguerite's B&B

We've been up for about 44 hours at this point. We finally made it to Skiberreen after a 10 hour drive. Skiberreen is just a 2 hour drive from Shannon, we wandered. :-)

Now a 15 minute drive to dinner. Let's see how long that takes.

Newark airport

Had good dinner at Riviera restaurant. I had pasta with lamb sausage and two glasses of good wine. Waiting at the gate and helping my girl get online. :)

Sunday, April 19, 2015. Maybe it is time to think about what I will pack tomorrow morning for the trip to Ireland. Maybe I should load my tablet with books to read on the flight over. Ya, that sounds like the most important thing to do now.

Planning Second Trip to Ireland

We are getting ready to head back to Ireland next week. This time we have tickets for  a music festival! Three days of Irish musicians day and night! We will be staying in B & B's again on the west side of the country. I plan to post pictures as often as possible. Hopefully each night starting next Wednesday.
